Author Guidelines

If you are interested in submitting to this journal, we recommend that you see the About the Journal page for the journal’s section policies, the Author Guidelines, and our latest issue. Please send your paper to epiphany@ius.edu.ba. We will contact you for further procedures after an initial review of your submission.

  • Submission Policy

Epiphany – Journal of Transdisciplinary Studies aims to promote transdisciplinary studies that cross disciplinary boundaries to create a holistic approach. It refers to concepts or field research methods originally developed in one discipline, but now widely used by other disciplines in the area of humanities and social sciences including anthropology, philosophy, economics, media studies, history, psychology, sociology, visual and performing arts, literature, technology and cultural studies. We invite scholars interested in transcending classical scholarship to submit their manuscripts to Epiphany, following the submission policies:

General:

  • Articles must be in English and should not exceed 10000 words including footnotes and bibliography.
  • Articles must display original thought and ideas. They must make concrete references to existing scholarship in the related area.
  • Citations and references should be made in accordance with the APA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing.
  • Articles may feature illustrations and graphics. It is the responsibility of the author of the article to obtain the necessary permissions for the illustrations and/or graphics that they use.
  • Articles will undergo rigorous originality and plagiarism detection procedures.

  • Articles must follow the article template which can be found here.

    Publication fee:

    Epiphany - Journal of Transdisciplinary Studies does not charge any submission or publication fees.

     

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text has 1.5 spacing; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. It follows the article template provided on the Epiphany website.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
 

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish with Epiphany –Journal of Transdiciplinary Studies agree to the following terms:

 

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
